Anatomy of a Transition
There are 64 Musical Treatments, called Transitions, in this collection, based on the Yi Jing and the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine and are available on three streaming audio platforms at no charge.
They are especially compatible for clients to use at home between acupuncture treatments as a way to help maintain meridian integrity until their next acupuncture treatment; although they work quite well between other types of treatments as well such as chiropractic, etc.
It is interesting to note that at a Conference in Dublin where Meridian Music was presented to Acupuncturists some were able to identify which meridians were being musically massaged as the music was being played.
The basic structure is illustrated through the example of Transition # 61, “A Wider Reality.” which has 6 distinct sections corresponding to the 6 pairs of Ordinary Meridians with Transporting Points and is uniquely sequenced as follows:
Heart/Small Intestine – Wood Fire Earth
Spleen Pancreas/Stomach – Metal Water Wood
Lung/ Large Intestine – Earth Water
Gall Bladder/Liver – Metal Water
Pericardium/Triple Heater - Metal Wood Earth
Kidney Adrenal/Urinary Bladder – Fire Metal Wood
Each of the 64 Transitions have their own unique sequence of Meridians as well as their own unique assemblage of Transporting Points. For those esoterically inclined further insight can be gained by exploring the Yi Jing commentaries for Hexagram 61.
